We think it’s simply doing what is required in the short-term on your website, but also helping you see into the future more clearly.
Website consulting means talking, diagnosing, planning, and sometimes even helping you fix stuff. Thanks to technology, it can be carried out in person or remotely. Most of ours is done remotely thanks to virtual meeting software and project management tools.
The word “consultant” comes with ambiguity. What exactly does one do? What are their responsibilities?
Here are a few things a website consultant will help with:
Website consulting arrangements, at least from our experience, are work for hire situations. Most don’t require extensive website consulting agreements or contracts. We have a single authorization document for our bite-sized packages.
One of the benefits of hiring a consultant is the “plug-and-play” value. They should be able to fix problems quickly and easily. Lengthy contracts and agreements only get in the way of solving problems.
With that said, engaging a web consulting firm without signing anything isn’t wise. At the very least, make sure the engagement details hours, rates & objectives.
If it is mentioned in your plan you will get it with definitely get it. No questions asked or not to mentioned any conditions and no hidden fees.
“We all know someone who designs web sites as a hobby – your nephew, a friend, a co-worker. This also explains why there are so many poorly designed web sites – or “all lookalike” – commercial template type of design. Some “designers” don’t even bother to change the original photos…
Let’s say you hire your nephew or an employee’s relative who “creates websites in her spare time”. The result: your website does not have the professional look that shows in your other marketing campaign so the first impression could be negative. Your site might be hard for web site visitors to navigate, the pages might take too long to load, or it could be just…plain boring, causing people to leave your website without contacting you.
From their first impression, website visitors do not take your business seriously and they choose to take their business to your competitor.
Web design is a unique design medium and requires extensive knowledge in designing graphics and page layout for the internet.
The internet is visual! You have 4 seconds to grab your visitor’s attention. You miss with a poor design, your client is gone!”
No, Whatever is mentioned in your plan, will get it without asking any questions or applying any conditions.

Your website visitors will see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution setting and their individual computer settings and toolbars. We design sites with that in mind and preview them in several browser types and resolution settings before publishing. Obviously as technology alters then eventually all websites may need reevaluation.
All our websites are created with search engines in mind and the website design is compliant with search engine guidelines. It is a good idea for your website to be re-evaluated in time, as over a period of time the search engines do alter their rules and algorithms and you will want to be certain that your website is kept up to date and complies with new rules etc.
It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form – for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in ms word or similar format. If this is not possible, we can help get your information ready for use on the website.
You may move your website to another web hosting service after our contract of 12 months.

We are based in New York, But we have clients everywhere. So whether you are located in New York City, Austin, Texas, or Wellington, New Zealand, the design process is the same.
“There are definitely occasions when voice communication like a phone call or a Zoom call will be our best option. For Advising Sessions, we’ll collaborate through a combination of instant messaging (your choice of Zoom chat or Facebook Messenger) and voice chat + screen sharing on Zoom.”
We will provide a few templates / design concepts for you to choose from based upon the information that you provide in ‘Start Your Project’ form and the information garnered from our chats and/or the Initial Consultation.
We offer a number of concepts or versions depending on your design package and the direction you wish your website to follow.
Once you have narrowed down the options to one or two of your favorite concepts, We will begin to refine your choice. This refining is called design revisions. It can include slight changes to the color palette, iconography, typography, and proportions. Revisions typically do not involve changing the main concept of the design itself.
Once we agree on the conceptual direction for your design, We offer a number of revision rounds based on your design package.
A round refers to the feedback – implementation – presentation loop. Before a revision round, you’ll provide feedback on the concept.
We will interpret & implement that feedback in the form of edits. Then we will present to you the updated design as Revision 1. At this point, all feedback is added to the ‘To-Do’ list for Revision Round 2. This loop continues only through Revision Round 3. Any other revisions will incur extra cost. Don’t worry, though. Most revisions are completed through Revision 2.
For a clean, smooth process, it is important that you collect all of your information for your website up front: all forms, messaging, pictures, history, etc. Filling out the Start My Project form and completing the Website Prep Guide should complete the process before the start of the Advising Session.
If you “run out” of revision rounds (>2 ) or if you would like to be presented with entirely new concepts, more can be purchased. The price depends on the type of project. Please remember that it will never exceed our monthly price of the plan.
After almost a decades of building websites, We know one thing is true: your website will never be complete.
Of course, you’ll get your basic website set up, but changes are inevitable. Websites should NEVER be static, appear old, or out-of-date.
Your business will change and evolve over time. This is a natural part of any business. Sometimes, however, small business owners and grassroots organization leaders often decide to hold back that evolutionary next step because “I can’t afford to update the website again.”
Other than making space for your business’ growth potential, Website as a Service (WaaS) is just smart decision making. Once your base website is up and running, you will need a mechanism to allow your website to evolve and grow with your business.

Before We get started creating your website, We need the website design phase to be complete. Typically this phase which includes your completion of the Website Planning Guide and our Brainstorming Session, takes 30 days. Since we may need to have revision iterations (three at most), We give a 15 day grace period.
Once the design is signed-off by both parties, creation of the site can continue, and you will be able to view the site as it is developed.
The moral of this story is to be prepared, be available, and never, ever, ever utter the words “”I’ll know it when I see it”” to your website architect.
